All free β no ticket needed. Concerts, festivals, community events, and more.
Free events on NearbyToday are exactly that: no ticket, no cover, no reservation required. Library programs (which are all free), city-run community events, park programming, university public lectures, pay-what-you-can theatre nights, and community-organised festivals fill this page. We detect the free tag from the source wherever the source publishes it β the City of Calgary's Open Data feed carries an explicit free flag, tourism board RSS feeds usually spell it out in the description ("PWYC", "admission by donation", "free with registration"), and library programs default to free. If a listed event turns out to have a hidden cost, tell us at /contact and we'll fix the source.
NearbyToday pulls events directly from 60+ official public sources β municipal event calendars, tourism board feeds, public library event systems, university public-events feeds, Ontario Parks, and Ticketmaster for concerts and sports. Each source is fetched at its origin, de-duplicated, and cached with a stale-on-failure fallback. Read the full methodology on the About page →
